The quick answer
Open Pay Bills, select only the vendor bills you intend to pay, enable To Be Printed, and save the payment batch. Then review the processed payments and open the check-printing preview to compare vendors, amounts, bank account, and check numbers. A preview doesn’t prove that a check was physically printed, delivered, cleared, or reconciled.
The screenshots show sample data. Person and operating-company names are fictional. Use your own records and values when following the steps.
Before you start
Use unpaid vendor bills in the correct subsidiary, currency, and posting period. Confirm that your role can create bill payments and print checks, and verify the intended bank account and check-number sequence before saving.
01. Check the available bills and payment settings
Open the Pay Bills form and review the payment context before selecting any bills. In the example, the form shows A/P account 2115 Trade Payables, bank account 1036 Operating Bank, payment date 09/07/2026, posting period Sep 2026, and subsidiary Cedar Harbor Supply. Review the available bill rows and their amounts, including Westhaven Parts at 780.00, Elmstone Logistics at 465.00, and Canyon Paper at 320.00.
02. Select only the bills for this payment batch
Select the Westhaven Parts and Elmstone Logistics bill rows, and leave Canyon Paper unselected. The two selected amounts total 1,245.00; the displayed 320.00 Canyon Paper bill must remain outside this batch. Enable To Be Printed so the resulting check payments can be handled in the check-printing stage.
03. Review the processed bill payments
Save the payment batch, then review the Processed Bill Payments results. The recorded result shows Westhaven Parts and Elmstone Logistics with Complete status and displayed amounts of 780.00 and 465.00, for a displayed total of 1,245.00. These results show the processed bill payments in NetSuite; they don’t establish bank settlement.
04. Navigate to the check-printing function
Open Transactions → Management → Print Checks and Forms, then choose Checks. Use the same bank account as the saved payments.
05. Select the checks in the print queue
Select 1036 Operating Bank, then select the Westhaven Parts and Elmstone Logistics payments. Confirm First Check Number is 5812 and review both amounts before choosing Print.
06. Inspect the first check
Choose Print to generate the preview. Check the payee, date, bank account, and amount on the first page: Westhaven Parts, 780.00, check 5812.
07. Review the generated check preview
The recorded preview is page 2 of 2 and displays the Elmstone Logistics check for 465.00, dated 09/07/2026, from 1036 Operating Bank. It shows check number 5813, which follows the stated starting number 5812 for the first check. Stop at the preview unless your authorized process separately requires physical printing; this view doesn’t confirm printing, delivery, bank clearance, or reconciliation.
Check the result

Common questions
Where do vendor payments marked To Be Printed go?
After you save the selected payments, the payments normally appear in the check-printing queue under Transactions > Management > Print Checks and Forms. Select the same bank account used on the payment; available menus and queue behavior depend on your role, enabled features, subsidiary, and account configuration.
How do I pay only selected vendor bills?
Open Transactions > Payables > Pay Bills, select only the intended bill rows, verify the payment total, and enable To Be Printed before saving. Unselected bills remain unpaid and are not included in those payments; approval rules, payment holds, currency, subsidiary, and accounting-period controls may limit which bills are available.
Why is a vendor payment missing from the check-printing queue?
Confirm that the payment was saved successfully, To Be Printed was selected, and the check queue is filtered to the correct bank account and subsidiary. Also check whether the payment is pending approval, already printed, voided, rejected, or processed through an account-specific electronic-payment workflow instead of checks.
Does a printed check mean the bank payment has cleared?
No. A check preview or printed-check record confirms only that NetSuite generated or prepared the check transaction. Physical printing, delivery, bank acceptance, and clearing require separate operational or reconciliation evidence, which varies by payment method and account configuration.
