Add a saved search to the NetSuite Home dashboard

Add a Custom Search portlet to NetSuite Home, select a fulfillment saved search, set its dashboard title, and review picked or packed orders.

The quick answer

On Home, use Personalize to add a Custom Search portlet. Open its Set Up link, select the saved search, enter a readable portlet title, and save. Check the returned rows on the dashboard.

The screenshots use sample data and fictional person and operating-company names.

Before you start

The saved search must already exist and be available to your user. This example displays fulfillments awaiting dispatch, with document and status columns and Pick, Pack, and Ship enabled. Available searches and columns depend on permissions and dashboard placement.

01. Add a Custom Search portlet

Open Home and click Personalize. Under Standard Content, select Custom Search, then close the Personalize panel. Locate the new unconfigured portlet.

Add Custom Search from the Personalize Dashboard panel.

Click Set Up on the portlet. Open the Search selector and use List to choose Fulfillments Awaiting Dispatch. Enter Ready for Dispatch in Custom Portlet Title. Keep Results Size at 10 and leave the other options unchanged, then save.

Choose the fulfillment search and give its portlet the title Ready for Dispatch.

03. Review the dashboard work queue

Locate Ready for Dispatch on Home. Check IF-8421 as Packed and IF-8422 and IF-8423 as Picked. These are existing search results; adding the portlet does not ship orders or change fulfillment status. No inline edits are made here.

The configured portlet displays three picked or packed fulfillments.

Check the result

  1. The portlet uses Fulfillments Awaiting Dispatch.
  2. Ready for Dispatch appears as the dashboard title.
  3. The three rows retain their Picked or Packed statuses.

Common questions

How do I add a saved search to the NetSuite Home dashboard?

Open Home, click Personalize, and add Standard Content > Custom Search. In the portlet, click Set Up, select the accessible saved search, choose a results size, and click Save. Available searches depend on role permissions and dashboard configuration.

Can the dashboard portlet have a different title from the saved search?

Yes. Enter the preferred label in Custom Portlet Title, such as Ready for Dispatch, while selecting Fulfillments Awaiting Dispatch as the saved search. The custom title changes only the dashboard display; it does not rename or modify the saved-search definition.

What does Results Size control in a Custom Search portlet?

Results Size controls how many rows appear at one time, such as 10 fulfillment rows. It does not change the saved-search criteria or necessarily limit the complete result set. If more results exist, account configuration may provide additional result pages or navigation.

Does adding the portlet change fulfillment statuses or search criteria?

No. The portlet displays the existing saved-search results, such as picked or packed fulfillments that have not shipped. Adding it does not edit records, ship orders, or change criteria. Relative dates are evaluated when the search runs, subject to account and role access.
