The quick answer
Search Setup Manager for "invoic" to locate the relevant configuration pages. Use the result that points to Company > Enable Features > Accounting to inspect the A/R feature, and leave all settings unchanged.

Before you start
Use a role that can access Setup Manager and configuration pages. This guide is read-only: don’t select, clear, or save any feature or preference.
01. Check that Setup Manager is open
Open Setup Manager from the Setup menu and confirm that its setup categories and search controls are visible. Setup Manager lets you find configuration areas by topic instead of requiring you to remember the full menu path.
02. Search for the invoicing topic
Enter invoic in the Setup Manager search field. This partial term is enough to return invoicing-related tasks and feature descriptions in the recorded account; search results can differ by role, account configuration, and enabled features.
03. Distinguish the preferences task
Review the result under Tasks named Invoicing Preferences. Its path is shown as Accounting > Invoicing Preferences, and the page contains invoicing behavior options such as combining billable lines and showing billable subtotals. Don’t change a checkbox or select Save.
04. Check the A/R feature
Select the search match under Company > Enable Features > Accounting. Locate A/R and read its invoicing description. A/R is the feature name; the highlighted description is not another checkbox. Leave the settings unchanged and exit without saving.

Common questions
How can I find an invoicing setting if I do not know its menu path?
Open Setup > Setup Manager, search for invoic, and review the matching tasks and destinations. For example, the description about invoicing customers leads to Setup > Company > Enable Features > Accounting, where you can inspect A/R.
What is the difference between Invoicing Preferences and the A/R feature?
Invoicing Preferences controls applicable invoice behavior, such as grouping or displaying billable lines. A/R is an accounting feature that controls whether the account supports customer invoicing; the exact options and labels depend on enabled features and account configuration.
Can I inspect the setting without changing account configuration?
Yes. Open the matching page, review the current checkbox or preference values, and leave them unchanged. Exit with Cancel or navigate away without selecting Save; viewing a setting does not enable a feature or alter transaction behavior.
Why might I not see the same invoicing setting as another user?
Setup Manager results and configuration pages vary by account, enabled features, role permissions, subsidiaries, and localization. A feature being available—or enabled—in the account does not guarantee that your role can access its configuration page or use the related transactions.
