Hide Current Page Results in NetSuite Global Search

Hide Current Page Results in NetSuite Global Search with the personal Page Search preference. Repeat the same query to verify global results remain.

The quick answer

Open Home → Set Preferences → Analytics, clear Page Search, and save. Repeat the same Global Search query to confirm account-wide results remain while Current Page Results is hidden.

The screenshots show a recorded demonstration with sample data. Use your own records and values when following the steps.

Before you start

This is a personal search preference. Begin with a query that shows both result groups so the before-and-after comparison checks the setting rather than a different search.

01. Compare the two result groups

From Home, type sales in Global Search without submitting it. Inspect Global Search Results and Current Page Results in the suggestions. The two groups have different scopes.

The initial sales query shows global and current-page suggestions.

02. Clear the Page Search preference

Open Home → Set Preferences → Analytics. In Search, clear Page Search and click Save. Leave the other search preferences unchanged.

Page Search controls the current-page result group.

03. Repeat the same query

Return to Home and type sales again. Confirm Global Search Results remains and Current Page Results is absent. Saving this user preference changes the search presentation without deleting account records.

The repeated query retains global suggestions and hides current-page matches.

Check the result

  1. The before-and-after query is identical.
  2. Page Search is saved as cleared.
  3. Global results remain available after the current-page group disappears.

Common questions

What is the difference between Global Search Results and Current Page Results?

Global Search Results are account-wide matches. Current Page Results are matches for navigation labels, fields, tabs, or other content on the page you are viewing.

How do I hide Current Page Results from the Global Search dropdown?

From Home, open Set Preferences, select Analytics, clear Page Search, and click Save. Repeat the same search to confirm that only Global Search Results appear.

What does the Page Search preference control?

It controls whether the current-page group appears in Global Search suggestions. It changes the search presentation, not the underlying NetSuite data.

Does disabling Page Search remove account-wide Global Search Results?

No. It removes only Current Page Results. The change is a user-level preference, so it affects the user context that saved it rather than automatically changing the experience for everyone.
