The quick answer
Go to Home > Set Preferences > Transactions. In the Warnings section, clear Inventory Level Warnings and click Save. The change applies to your user only. When you add an item to a sales order, NetSuite then stops showing the inventory-level pop-up for you, such as the one that says how many are available for commitment, and the line still shows its inventory columns.
The pop-up reads like "You have only 0 available for commitment across all locations (956 back ordered, 3 on order)." It names the item and appears while you add the line to a sales order. You must click OK before you continue, once for each such line. It is a warning rather than a block: after OK the line is added and the order can still be saved. In the source demonstration, an item with 0 available produced this message. A zero available quantity is not the defining condition: NetSuite documents the preference as covering items at or below their reorder points, so an item with stock can also trigger it. The wording reports availability, back orders and on-order quantities.

Before you start
You need access to Set Preferences, which every user has for their own settings. The preference belongs to the signed-in user. Other users keep their own setting, and clearing yours does not change how inventory is committed or back ordered, or whether a sales order can be saved. The example uses a Curved Gaming Monitor with 44 on hand and 0 available. The names and numbers are illustrative, not expected results, and with several locations the values that matter are those for the line's location. The exact warning text and sales order columns vary with locations, inventory status, commitment settings, the transaction form and enabled features.
01. Find the preference
In the standard navigation, click Home, then Set Preferences, and open the Transactions tab. If your navigation looks different, use global search to open Set Preferences. In the Warnings section, find Inventory Level Warnings. It is checked. Its field help says it shows warnings when you sell inventory items with quantities at or below their reorder points, and it points to the Reorder Point field on the item.
02. Clear it and save
Clear the Inventory Level Warnings checkbox, then click Save. NetSuite returns to Home. Reopening Set Preferences to confirm the box stays cleared is optional. You can check it again at any time to get the warnings back.
03. Check a new sales order
Open Transactions > Sales > Enter Sales Orders, choose a customer, and add an item that would have raised the warning, such as one with no stock available or one at or below its reorder point. The pop-up no longer interrupts the entry. On the Items subtab, read the line: On Hand shows 44 and Available shows 0 in the example. The pop-up is gone, but the line's inventory columns remain, so check them before you confirm an order you plan to fulfil from stock.
If the pop-up still appears, confirm you saved the preference as the same user you are using to enter the order, and reload the sales order before adding the line. A different message, such as a validation, commitment or lead-time message, is not an Inventory Level Warning and can still appear.
Common questions
Where is the Inventory Level Warnings preference?
Go to Home > Set Preferences, open Transactions, and find Inventory Level Warnings in the Warnings section. Clear the checkbox and click Save.
Does clearing it stop an order from back ordering?
No. The pop-up is only a warning. Clearing the preference does not change inventory quantities, commitments, back orders, reorder points, whether a sales order can be saved, or how a shortage is recorded.
Does it apply to every user?
No. It is a user preference, so it changes what the signed-in user sees. Another user keeps their own setting, even with the same role, although a role can control who can open or change preferences.
Does this disable all inventory warnings?
No. It disables the applicable Inventory Level Warning for the signed-in user. Other transaction, commitment, availability-to-promise, fulfillment, manufacturing, validation and planning messages can still appear.
Does it suppress reorder-point warnings?
Where the message is an Inventory Level Warning tied to an item's applicable reorder point, yes. The same preference can also relate to assembly build-point warnings. Do not assume it suppresses time-to-build or lead-time messages unless the specific message is an Inventory Level Warning.
Why does the pop-up say 0 available when the item has stock on hand?
On Hand can include units that are already committed to other orders or sit in an inventory status that cannot be committed. Available is the quantity eligible for commitment under the item, location, status and commitment configuration.
Does this change how I add items to the sales order?
No. You add lines the same way. Without the pop-up, read the inventory columns on the line before you confirm the order.
