Issue work-order components in the RF-SMART handheld app

Select a work order, confirm two component bins and issue quantities, then check the RF-SMART app-level message.

The quick answer

In the RF-SMART handheld app, open Issue Components, confirm the location, and load the work orders. Open the intended order, confirm each component’s bin, and enter its issue quantity. Check that both lines turn green, then select Submit. The app returns to the order list with an Issued components message.

This guide covers the RF-SMART handheld workflow, which is separate from the native NetSuite Issue Components manager. The screenshots use fictional operator and company data. RF-SMART menus and exact labels depend on your installed app and role permissions.

Before you start

Your role needs access to RF-SMART Issue Components and a work order eligible for your configured process. Confirm the intended order and location, and check the inventory and posting controls that apply in your account. If backflush or another process may already have issued components, check prior issues first. Lot, serial, and inventory-status rules may add prompts that this example does not show.

01. Load the work order

On the RF-SMART menu, select Issue Components. Confirm Auckland as the location and choose Load Work Orders. The example list contains six orders. Open 116; in your account, select the order you intend to issue against. You can also scan an order number into the Order # field if you have its barcode.

Load the orders for the location, then select the intended work order.

02. Check the component lines

The selected order opens with two red lines. GRND-Turkey shows Qty 4 and bin 001-D-64; Rice-Brown shows Qty 2 and bin 001-D-65. Both Issue values start at 0, so neither line has an entered issue quantity. Check the item, required quantity, and suggested bin before entering anything.

Red rows and Issue 0 show that neither component has been entered yet.

03. Issue the first component

Select or scan GRND-Turkey. Confirm bin 001-D-64 in the Bin field and select Done. Enter 4 in the Issue field and select Done again. The turkey line moves below the unfinished rice line and turns green. Alt. Bins can show other bin choices, but use one only after checking that it is eligible and has the needed stock.

Confirm the source bin before entering the issue quantity.

04. Finish the second component

Select or scan Rice-Brown, confirm bin 001-D-65, enter an Issue quantity of 2, and select Done. The list now shows both rows in green: Issue 4 for turkey and Issue 2 for rice. The visible Used values remain 0 before submission, while the entered amounts appear under Issue. Do not infer how Used will change without checking the resulting record.

Check both green rows and their Issue quantities before submitting.

05. Submit and check the result

Select Submit. The handheld returns to the work-order list and displays the green Issued components strip. This confirms only that RF-SMART displayed the message after submission. It does not, by itself, verify that a NetSuite Work Order Issue was saved or posted. The demonstrated video does not open a resulting transaction or inventory detail. If you need to verify posting, inspect the related NetSuite record using the controls available in your account.

Use this message as the app-level submission check; verify the NetSuite transaction separately if required.

Common questions

Why are the component rows red or green?

In this example, red rows start with Issue 0 and appear green after the demonstrated bin and issue quantity are entered. Treat the color as an RF-SMART screen indicator, and check the item, bin, and number before Submit. Follow your account’s policy if partial issues are allowed.

Can I choose a different bin?

The demonstrated item screen has an Alt. Bins option. Use an alternate only if your RF-SMART setup permits it and the bin has eligible inventory for the item and quantity. The example uses the suggested bins.

Does Issued components prove a NetSuite work-order issue was posted?

No. It proves only that RF-SMART displayed the message after submission. The walkthrough does not show a NetSuite Work Order Issue, related record, inventory detail, or posting result. Inspect the related NetSuite record separately when transaction verification is required.

Why is RF-SMART Issue Components missing?

This screen belongs to the installed RF-SMART app. Check its deployment, role permissions, menu configuration, location, and account setup with your administrator. The native NetSuite Issue Components manager is a separate workflow.
