Where a custom dangerous-goods warning appears in NetSuite WMS Mobile picking

See the released-order, pick-task, bin and item selections that lead to an account-specific dangerous-goods alert before quantity entry.

The quick answer

A custom dangerous-goods warning can appear when the picker selects an item in WMS Mobile → Picking → Single Order Picking. In this example, it opens over Enter Quantity after the released sales order, pick task and source bin are selected. The quantity field is still blank. This is an account-specific customization, not a warning that standard WMS Mobile automatically shows for every dangerous-goods item.

The screenshots use sample values and fictional person and operating-company names. This walkthrough stops at the warning. It does not show a submitted pick quantity, completed pick, fulfillment, or handling procedure.

Before you start

The account needs NetSuite WMS and SCM Mobile, and the picker needs access to the relevant warehouse and picking process. A sales order must have a released pick task and an available source bin. The item-warning customization must be configured in that account. Its trigger, wording and handling procedure may differ from this example. Here, the example order is SO-84231, the item is MAT-00412, and the source bin is 01-01-01A.

01. Select a released order

Open SCM Mobile → WMS, choose Northline Depot when warehouse selection appears, then go to Picking → Single Order Picking → Released Orders → Sales Order. On Select Order, keep the visible Show Released Orders toggle on and select SO-84231. Application and warehouse selection can vary by account access.

Start with the released sales order.

02. Open the pick task and bin

Select the pick task for MAT-00412. On Enter Bin, select the displayed recommended bin 01-01-01A. Other accounts may allow scanning, entering or choosing another eligible bin. The example shows 153 EA available in this bin; that is an availability display, not the quantity picked in this walkthrough.

Open the task associated with the item and source bin.
Select the recommended source bin.

03. Select the item

On Enter Item, select MAT-00412, described here as a controlled material container. Some configurations also allow scanning or entering the item. In this customized example, the selection opens Enter Quantity with the warning; selecting the item alone does not record a pick.

Choose the item that triggers the configured warning.

04. Check the warning

The Picking Item Safety Alert opens over Enter Quantity and names MAT-00412 as dangerous goods. It tells the picker to follow the appropriate procedure, but the demonstration does not show what that procedure is. The field beneath the alert remains blank.

The account-specific warning appears before quantity entry.

Check what the recording proves

  1. The warning identifies MAT-00412 and asks for the appropriate procedure.
  2. The quantity field is blank when the warning appears.
  3. No picked quantity, fulfillment or compliance outcome is shown.

Common questions

Is this dangerous-goods popup a standard WMS Mobile feature?

No. The demonstrated popup is a client-specific customization. Check your own account configuration and item rules before expecting the same alert.

Does the alert mean the item has been picked?

No. It appears before the quantity is entered. The recording stops with the warning open and shows no completed pick task or fulfillment.

What should a picker do after seeing it?

Follow the procedure configured by your organization. This demonstration does not define that procedure or show an acknowledgement record, so the alert alone is not evidence of compliance.
