How to receive a lot-tracked PO and complete bin putaway in NetSuite WMS Mobile

Follow one lot and 450 EA from a purchase-order receipt into Receiving Staging, then select the same lot for bin putaway.

The quick answer

In WMS Mobile, open Receiving → Purchase Order, select the lot-tracked line, enter its lot and quantity, and receive it into an eligible staging bin. Then open Receiving → Putaway → Bin Putaway, choose that staging bin and item, confirm the same lot and quantity under Expected Lots, and select the final storage bin. In this example, lot L-26019 and 450 EA move from Receiving Staging to 1A1C.

The screenshots use sample data and fictional person and operating-company names. The walkthrough shows mobile receipt and putaway. It does not open a saved desktop Item Receipt or verify the final on-hand bin balance.

Before you start

Use an approved, directly receivable PO line with 450 EA remaining at the chosen warehouse. The item must be lot tracked, bins must be enabled, and the receiver needs WMS Mobile receiving and putaway access. The account needs an eligible inbound staging bin and final storage bin. This example uses inventory status Good; its availability and meaning depend on account setup. The expiry field is left blank here, but an item rule or business process may require it elsewhere.

The mobile screen in this walkthrough reports that an Item Receipt was posted. If Manually post item receipts? is enabled in your account, a separate posting action may be needed. Check the saved transaction when its details matter; the mobile message alone does not show its number or inventory assignments.

01. Open the PO line

In SCM Mobile, select WMS and Northline Depot, then open Receiving → Purchase Order. Choose PO-84216 from the list. On Enter Item, check that COMP-016-C housing has 450 EA remaining before selecting it.

Choose the intended PO item.
Confirm 450 EA remains on that line.

02. Enter the lot and quantity

On Enter Lot, type L-26019. Leave the optional Expiry Date blank for this example, then submit. On Enter Quantity, keep Inventory Status at Good, enter 450 EA, and submit. The lot identifies which inventory-detail row receives that quantity.

Enter the lot; this example leaves the optional expiry field empty.
Confirm 450 EA remains and the inventory status is Good.
Enter 450, the full remaining quantity.

03. Receive into staging

On Enter Bin, choose Receiving Staging and submit. The mobile confirmation reports PO received and Item Receipt(s) posted. That is the message shown in this workflow; the saved desktop receipt is not opened here. Receiving Staging is the inbound bin, not the final storage bin.

Stage the received lot before the separate putaway task.
The mobile confirmation reports posting; the saved desktop receipt is not opened here.

04. Select the staged lot

Return to the main menu and open Receiving → Putaway → Bin Putaway. Select Receiving Staging and then COMP-016-C housing. Its staged quantity is 450 EA. On Enter Lot, compare Expected Lots with what was received: L-26019, 450 EA, Good, and no entered expiry. Select that lot and submit it.

Select the same lot L-26019 that was received.
Check that Expected Lots still shows 450 EA and Good.

05. Complete bin putaway

On Enter Quantity, enter the same 450 EA and compare it with the expected row. On Enter To Bin, select 1A1C and submit. WMS Mobile reports Item putaway completed successfully. This completes the demonstrated mobile putaway task; it is not a second PO receipt or a desktop bin-balance check.

Choose 1A1C as the storage bin for this lot.
The mobile putaway task reports completion.

Check the result

  1. The receipt-side entry and Expected Lots both name L-26019, 450 EA and Good.
  2. The chosen destination is 1A1C, and the mobile task reports completion.
  3. If the posted receipt or final on-hand balance matters, inspect those saved records separately.

Common questions

Why does WMS Mobile ask for the lot before quantity?

The lot identifies the inventory assignment to which the received quantity belongs. This workflow enters L-26019 first, then assigns 450 EA to it.

What is the difference between receiving into staging and bin putaway?

Receiving places the arriving goods into the inbound staging bin. Putaway moves that already-received lot from staging to an eligible storage bin. Putaway does not receive the PO again.

How do I check that the same lot and quantity carried through?

Compare the PO's 450 EA remaining, the entered lot and receiving quantity, the staged item's 450 EA, and the Expected Lots row for L-26019, 450 EA, Good. Then check the putaway quantity and chosen bin. For a saved transaction or on-hand result, inspect the account's Item Receipt and inventory inquiry separately.

Can the expiry date stay blank?

It stays blank in this example. Your item setup, validation rules or warehouse process may require expiry data, so follow the account's requirements.

Does the completion screen prove the Item Receipt or final bin balance?

No. The receiving confirmation reports posting, but this walkthrough does not open the saved desktop receipt. The putaway confirmation reports completion of the mobile task, not a verified desktop bin balance.
