The quick answer
SCM Mobile can list a location as a WMS warehouse once Use Warehouse Management is on and the location is saved. If yours is missing, open it under Setup > Company > Locations, check Use Warehouse Management and save. In this account, saving also set WMS Make WH Site, so check the saved record. Then begin a new SCM Mobile session, choose WMS, and look for the warehouse on Select Warehouse.
The screenshots show sample data. Person and operating-company names are fictional. Use your own records and values when following the steps.
Before you start
The WMS SuiteApps and the SCM Mobile WMS app have to be installed, and the Warehouse Management system rule has to be active. The location already exists, it is active, and no warehouse work is open for it. The role that will use the app needs access to the location and, in a OneWorld account, its subsidiary. Use Warehouse Management doesn't require Use Bins. Receiving, putaway, replenishment and bin transfers do need a location that uses bins, plus bins to choose from.
A location can show up in Select Warehouse before its bins, strategies, item settings and permissions are ready, so appearing on the list isn't the same as being set up. Menu labels and the way you reach the app depend on your account and role.
01. Check the mobile warehouse list
Open the SCM Mobile WMS app. Here that is SCM Mobile > WMS > WMS Mobile App. If the app offers to restore the last session, choose Begin New Session. Choose WMS and read Select Warehouse. It lists Lakeshore Warehouse, Millbrook Annex and Ridgeway Depot. Fenwick Warehouse isn't there.
02. Open the location
On the desktop go to Setup > Company > Locations and click Edit beside Fenwick Warehouse. On this example record, Use Bins and Make Inventory Available are checked, and Use Warehouse Management and WMS Make WH Site are not. In this OneWorld account the Subsidiary is text you can't edit, so confirm it when you create a location.
03. Turn on Use Warehouse Management
Check Use Warehouse Management. WMS Make WH Site stays unchecked on the form until the record is saved. Click Save.
04. Confirm the saved settings
The saved location shows Use Warehouse Management checked. It also shows WMS Make WH Site checked, because in this account NetSuite set it when the record was saved. Verify both on the saved record instead of trusting the edit form. Don't treat WMS Make WH Site as a second step unless the location still fails to appear.
05. Start a new mobile session
Open SCM Mobile > WMS > WMS Mobile App again. The app offers to restore the last session. Choose Begin New Session, because an open or restored session can keep its old warehouse list.
Choose WMS. Fenwick Warehouse is now on Select Warehouse with the other warehouses.
06. Open the warehouse
Choose Fenwick Warehouse. The Main Menu opens with Receiving, Picking, Inventory, Work Orders and Vendor Returns. The tiles you see depend on the installed apps, your WMS setup and the user's role. If a user can't see the warehouse, compare their role's subsidiary and location access, then confirm the WMS app and system rule are active.
Check the result
- Fenwick Warehouse was missing from Select Warehouse before the change.
- The saved location shows Use Warehouse Management and WMS Make WH Site checked.
- A new session lists Fenwick Warehouse, and its Main Menu opens.
Common questions
Why is my warehouse missing from Select Warehouse in the SCM Mobile WMS app?
The app lists locations that are registered as WMS warehouses. Use Bins and Make Inventory Available don't put a location there. Confirm that the location is active, that Use Warehouse Management is on in the saved record and that WMS Make WH Site has the value you expect. Then begin a new session. Also check the user's access to the location and its subsidiary, that the WMS and SCM Mobile apps are installed and active, the Warehouse Management system rule, and whether the user is limited to one warehouse.
Do I have to check WMS Make WH Site myself?
Not in the account tested. NetSuite checked it when the location was saved with Use Warehouse Management on. Because that happens on save, look at the saved record, and don't assume the unsaved form is the final state. If the location still isn't listed, check the apps, the role and the system rule before you touch the flag by hand.
Do I need Use Bins to enable a location for WMS?
No. A WMS location without bins uses the no-bin flow. It can't do bin work such as bin transfers, putaway or replenishment, and those need a location that uses bins and bins to choose from. The item's own bin setting still matters for bin-based processing.
What should I check before turning on Use Warehouse Management for a location that already has stock?
Saving the flag doesn't post an inventory transaction or move stock, but it changes how the location can be processed. Review open purchase orders, transfer orders, sales orders, work orders, waves and existing WMS tasks first. Check on-hand quantities, bins, lots, serial numbers, statuses and item settings for the location, and the bins, strategies and system rule your processes need. Test on a spare location if the warehouse is busy.
Why can't I choose my new location when I create a zone?
The Location list on a new Zone offers only locations that have Use Warehouse Management on, so enable and save the location first. It also needs the bin and WMS setup your processes expect.
Can I change a location's subsidiary later?
In a OneWorld account the subsidiary is read-only once the location is saved, so confirm it when you create the location. Without OneWorld the field may not be on the record.
