To run the 2020 no-bin NetSuite WMS cycle count workflow, generate and release the due items, start the count, and enter each item's physical quantity in WMS Mobile. Split a lot item's total across its lots. Then complete and approve the desktop Inventory Count and check its adjustment history.
This guide follows the historical 2020 mobile sequence. It uses Enter Item/Task, Task Count Completed for the first item, and Cycle Count Completed for the finished plan. Your account may use different pages. Current instructions can use Select Task and Enter Item instead; confirm your version before following the labels below.
The screenshots come from a reconstruction of the historical workflow. The current live account had no available count tasks, so the later completion, approval and scheduling outcomes were not verified there. The values below belong to this replay.
The walkthrough uses fictional example data. Person and operating-company names are Alex Morgan and Example Supply Co. The example dates are in October 2026; the screen sequence is historical.
Before you start
Use a WMS-enabled location configured without bins, an existing eligible cycle count plan, and items with the required location-level count settings. The lot item also needs selectable lots. Staff need the WMS Mobile and desktop permissions for their generation, counting, completion, approval and adjustment work, plus an open period and a valid adjustment account. Match any Department or Class settings your account requires for generation.
Coordinate inventory movement around the count. Start Count captures a snapshot; transactions after that point can affect review and posting. Stock-location hints help you find stock, but the physical total covers the whole location.
Here, Weekly Priority Count uses classification A and Use Item Frequency at West Storefront. FAST-210 has a snapshot of 20 Each and a physical count of 19. SEAL-220 has a snapshot and physical total of 30 Each, split between BATCH-A at 18 and BATCH-B at 12. The inventory status is Good and the adjustment account is Inventory Variance.
Walkthrough
1. Generate the items due for counting
Inspect the existing plan, then open Generate Cycle Count Plan and choose Weekly Priority Count. Set Count Start Date and Count End Date to October 8, 2026. Click Display.
With Use Item Frequency enabled, this range filters items by their next count dates. It doesn't set a deadline for the worker to finish. Confirm that the preview contains FAST-210 and SEAL-220.
2. Release and start the count
On Cycle Count Generation and Release, inspect the item rows, click Mark All, verify both selections, then click Generate & Release. On the success page, click Start Count. Confirm that IC0061 is Started before moving to mobile entry.
3. Open the mobile tasks
In the historical WMS Mobile flow, select West Storefront, then Inventory and Cycle Count. Menus and available tasks depend on the application, warehouse and role. Choose IC0061 on Select Plan. On Enter Item/Task, select FAST-210. The next page is Enter Quantity; this location has no bin-entry step.
4. Enter the regular item's physical quantity
Open Show Stock Locations if the hints help you locate stock. Count FAST-210 across the storefront, including stock outside those hints, and enter 19. Check the unit selector and retain Each. The recorded selector displays Eaches (1); the walkthrough does not demonstrate a unit conversion.
Click Enter Quantity. Task Count Completed shows FAST-210, Good and 19. Click Next Task to return to the item list. The first item now has a counted value.
5. Reconcile the lot quantities to the total
Select SEAL-220 and enter its total of 30 Each. On Enter Lot, enter BATCH-A and quantity 18, then submit that entry. Quantity Remaining becomes 12.
Enter BATCH-B and 12, then submit. The two lot entries total 30. Check the displayed unit and inventory status for each entry.
6. Check the final mobile result
Cycle Count Completed shows FAST-210 at 19 and two SEAL-220 detail quantities, 12 and 18 in displayed order, all with Good status. This historical page offers Plan Complete and Next Task. Desktop completion and approval still follow.
7. Complete and review the desktop count
Return to IC0061 and click Complete Count. Its status becomes Completed/Pending Approval. Compare each counted quantity with its snapshot before approving.
FAST-210 shows 20 in Snapshot Quantity and 19 in Count Quantity, so Adjusted Quantity is −1. SEAL-220 shows 30 in both columns and an adjusted quantity of zero. Investigate questionable quantities and any intervening transactions before approval.
8. Approve and inspect the adjustment history
After review, click Approve and confirm Approved. Open History, then Inventory Adjustments. This example lists IA0061 for the nonzero variance. The lot item's zero variance needs no adjustment here. In your account, inspect the generated adjustment records and their posting details; the walkthrough shows the reference rather than opening the adjustment.
9. Check the next count date
Open FAST-210's Purchasing/Inventory tab. Under Locations, click Edit for West Storefront. The item-location configuration opens on Costing in this example; select Inventory Count.
Confirm Inventory Count Interval is 7 and Next Inventory Count Date is October 15, 2026. These are location-specific values. Check the saved settings and completion history in your account instead of assuming every weekly count produces the same date. This step inspects the configuration without saving a change.
Verify the result
In the replay, IC0061 is Approved. The completed mobile result retains 19 for FAST-210 and lot quantities of 18 and 12 for SEAL-220. Desktop review shows a one-unit shortage for FAST-210 and zero variance for SEAL-220. Inventory Adjustments contains IA0061, and the item-location configuration shows the seven-day interval and October 15 next count date.
Keep those checks separate. A completed mobile task confirms quantity entry; the desktop status and adjustment history establish the later outcome.
Common questions
Do stock-location hints mean the warehouse uses bins?
No. Show Stock Locations is a locating aid in this replay. It doesn't add a bin scan or split the task into bin balances. Count the complete physical stock represented by the task; don't assume the hints list every place it may be stored.
Why enter a total before entering each lot?
The total is the quantity across the item's lots. The lot details must account for it: BATCH-A at 18 plus BATCH-B at 12 equals the entered total of 30. After the first entry, Quantity Remaining is 12.
Does Task Count Completed mean the inventory adjustment has posted?
No. In this sequence, it confirms the first item's mobile entry. Cycle Count Completed follows the remaining task. The reviewer still completes and approves IC0061 on desktop, then checks Inventory Adjustments for the resulting reference.
Why does the completed lot result show 12 before 18?
That is the displayed row order in this historical replay. The entries were BATCH-A at 18 and BATCH-B at 12. The result shows quantities without lot names, so use the lot detail to verify identity rather than relying on row order.
Will my current account show these same pages?
Check your WMS release, rules and role. This historical sequence uses Enter Item/Task and two different completion pages. Current instructions can use Select Task and Enter Item, and mobile completion options can differ. The reconstruction does not verify those current screens.
Does a seven-day interval always produce the date shown here?
No. October 15, 2026 is the saved example value inspected for FAST-210 at West Storefront. Verify your item-location settings and count history, then check which items the next plan generation selects.
